Canvas is a web-based learning management system, much like a digal classroom. It is used by teachers to post assignments, facilitate discussions, share resources and communicate important information to students. Students can turn in assignments, access digital resources needed for class, take quizzes and participate in classroom discussions.
Parents can sign up as an observer in Canvas. Observers can link their Canvas account to their student's account so they can see assignment dues dates, announcements, and other course content.
Follow the instructions below to create a Canvas Parent accounts.
- Go to https://elkhart.instructure.com.
- Click on 'Parent of a Canvas User?'.
- Enter Signup Details.
- You will need a student pairing code to create an account. Students can create a pairing code for their parent at home. Canvas maintains a helpful PDF with instructions students and parents can use to create accounts on their own.
